Guna and his family has been clouded with tragedy since the day he can remember. An alcoholic father, the sole breadwinner of the family passed away when he was four years old. His younger brother had just turned two and his mother was left widowed. His mother, Gomathi had suffered from polio when she was young and is a 60% amputee. But, she rose to the situation and started working hard to be able to support the boys. With one foot she started sewing to make money. Later, she worked as a nutritionist with a monthly income of 4500 rupees.

With the unconditional support of his mom, Guna completed his high school from Vandavasi Government Boys Higher Secondary School with a 468/600 score. His younger brother P. Sridhar currently studies in the same school in twelfth grade. The small family lives in a rented house dreaming and working towards the betterment of their livelihood.

Another challenge hit the family when P. Sridhar diagnosed positive for jaundice. He has been suffering from the merciless disease for the past few years now. To meet the medical expenses, the family has been taking loans and now is in immense debt. Their mother’s income is entirely spent on paying back loans and now they find it difficult to even meet their daily expenses.

Guna can cope with the current situation only if he goes for work after completing his studies.  After his schooling, Guna has planned to take medicine as career and wrote NEET exam this year, but unfortunately he got only 188/720. Now he has planned to retake the exam again on May 2023, for that he has joined SURIYA NEET ACADEMY, Salem but his mother is unable to meet its fees structure along with hostel fees. The coaching cost around 40000/- and hostel fees 6000 per month till may 2023.

Guna’s family now needs monetary support to finish this coaching and get high marks in NEET 2023. He dreams to work hard to meet the medical expenses of his brother’s treatment and support his family.
